We started Pandexio to get smarter-faster
Google would get us lists of documents to wade through and read. We would find actionable nuggets that triggered insights in our heads – thoughts, ideas, take-aways…. but we had no good way to save them or maintain links to the nuggets and context. Our insights would fade-away and the raw bookmarks and documents would scatter across our hard drive. Since we could not see or share each other’s insights, we were constantly reinventing the wheel or bombing each other with attachments and web links.
We built Pandexio to pick up where Google, and every other source of information, leaves off. Think of it as a shared iTunes for the collective insights of an organization. To make it easy for everybody to digitally save and share their insights – all Twitter-size and evidence-based – so companies can get smarter-faster.

Bob Danna, Executive Chairman
Bob Danna retired as a Managing Director from the Human Capital practice at Deloitte Consulting LLP in June 2017. With more than 40 years of experience in HR and learning transformation, leadership development, workforce analytics and associated management consulting, he has provided consulting services world-wide for both commercial and government clients. In January 2013, Bob joined Deloitte as part of the acquisition of Bersin & Associates where he served as EVP and COO. Prior to Bersin, he held senior executive management positions at several consulting firms, served on several Boards of Directors, was a naval officer, and completed masters degrees in physics and engineering.
John Burge, CEO and Co-founder
John is an engineer/attorney-turned-entrepreneur and operating executive. For the last 15 years he has led science & technology startups and turnarounds in the medical, insurance and litigation verticals, all of which were focused on the re-engineering of information-based processes. John is named inventor on several granted software-related patents, with several more pending. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, John was a product liability litigator at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold and served in engineering roles with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Eastman Kodak Company. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University and a J.D. from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
Laci Loew, Executive VP of Marketing
Laci is Human Capital Industry thought-leader, analyst and consultant. She has more than 30 years experience helping CEOs, CHROs, and other senior leaders optimize the performance of their people. Laci has served in senior HR roles for Motorola, United Airlines, Owens Corning and Accenture. Prior to launching her own firm, she was VP of Talent Management Research for Brandon Hall Group and a Leadership Principal Consultant for Bersin & Associates (now Bersin by Deloitte). Laci’s though leadership has been cited in Harvard Business Publishing, HR Magazine, Learning Executive, Workforce Expert, SHRM, and is often published in Training Magazine and other trade journals. Laci has a BS in education from the University of Illinois, holds her MBA and is currently a PhD candidate in organizational effectiveness.
Simon Politakis, Chief Technology Officer
Simon has more than 20 years of experience in building technology teams, as well as architecting and leading the development of cutting-edge, scale-intensive web applications. He most recently led the development of the cross-platform, HTML5 health-tracking application for Microsoft’s in-house fitness center. Simon served as the CTO at LegacyIt (social network) and Enterprise Architect at Kelley Blue Book. Prior to that, Simon served as Chief Architect at ProcessClaims.com – a VC-backed SaaS startup, acquired by CCC. Simon has held other roles in a wide array of industries including health care, insurance and utilities.
Brandon Varilone, VP of Engineering and Technical Co-Founder
Brandon has more than 10 years of experience as a technology expert, specializing in the design and construction of robust, high-performance distributed systems driven by progressive technologies and conforming to the most stringent security protocols. Brandon most recently architected a global intellectual property management system for Thomson Reuters and has headed the development of enterprise solutions for Urban Science, Valassis, Compuware, and General Motors. He holds both a B.S. in Computer Engineering (Suma cum laude) and a M.S. in Computer Science (Magna cum laude) from Lawrence Technological University.
david hain, board of directors
David Hain is the Founder and CEO of Gotham Growth Group, a global corporate development advisory firm (partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions) with specific expertise in the human capital management (HCM) industry. Prior to Gotham Growth Group, David founded, ran and/or sold several ventures in the Talent Management industry, including a sales training firm Peak Performance Concepts and HR Technologies (a venture-backed software and services company). David has formerly served in senior management, business development and sales capacities for several global 2000 companies including Veba Ag, Univar and Chemical Leaman, Inc.
Jim Mitchell, board of directors
Jim Mitchell is the former CEO of Fuhu, the creator of nabi – the world’s first full-featured Android tablet made just for kids. Jim led Fuhu to hyper growth – the #1 Fastest Growing Company in America on Inc. 5000 for two consecutive years (2013 and 2014). He has 20 years of experience in high-tech industries, working with leading clients such as Google, HP, Sun, Qualcomm, Toshiba, Intel and Nokia. Jim has held a variety of operational leadership roles holding him accountable for global accounts, P&L and office management. He earned his B.A in Business & Computer Science from Purdue University. He holds 6 patents on ecommerce frameworks for doing business via the Internet.
disruptive DATA STRUCTURES
And by disruptive, we literally mean flipping everything on its head. When we took a hard look at how we've all been working with information, we discovered a signal-noise problem. Documents were noise -- only small bits inside triggered new insights. Yet we were not saving those bits or our insights. Pandexio flips this on it's head. Instead of everyone repeatedly searching around in the noise looking for signal, we capture the signal and use it to manage and organize what we know. Our Smartsnips data structure ties it all together by packing insights with evidence and context.

Related to these new data structures, executing critical thinking within a digital platform requires new innovations in: user rights management, measuring quality, supporting insight authoring, integrating with other data structures and systems, ordering search results (to name a few). We have been granted four (4) patents to date, with six (6) more pending, covering the key innovations that support the execution of critical thinking processes within a digital platform.
cloud-based TECHnology PLATFORM
Pandexio is not an 'app.' It is a highly-distributed and highly-scalable platform designed to capture and manage a powerful new layer of enterprise information with a complex, multi-level data structure. Additionally, employees form insights wherever they consume content, and have a need for insights wherever they execute business processes. This called for a platform that can plug into existing systems and workflows. We think platform-first, and built our APIs before building our functionality on top of them

Taking the critical thinking process digital goes beyond just implementing a software system.
